Browser Printing vs. Desktop Print Service

A standard web browser cannot silently control local printers or bypass the system print dialog due to browser security sandboxes. OnlinePrinter seamlessly supports both modes:

Mode 1: Browser Native

Works instantly in all browsers without extra software. Triggers the browser's native print preview dialog.

Mode 2: QZ Tray Service

Enables direct silent printing, automatic printer discovery, and RAW thermal receipt (ESC/POS) commands.

QZ Tray Connection Test
Testing connection to wss://localhost:8182...
Detecting local desktop print daemon.
How to Setup Silent Printing with QZ Tray

Download the free community version of QZ Tray from the official portal: Run the installer and ensure QZ Tray is running in your system menu bar or tray.

When you first click "Test Connection" or Print in OnlinePrinter, QZ Tray will show a popup asking to allow communication with localhost. Click "Always Allow" or "Remember this decision".

Thermal printers (Epson TM-T88, Star Micronics, Xprinter, Zebra) use raw byte codes. OnlinePrinter supports direct ESC/POS command generation:
  • Paper cut command: ESC @ + ESC d 3 + GS V A 0
  • 80mm receipt width: 48 columns font
  • 58mm receipt width: 32 columns font
